MATCH REPORT: Reserves draw a blank angainst Lions

Sutton Bonington FC Reserves playing against Mountsorrel FC

Sutton Bonington Reserves drew 0-0 away to Hamilton Lions.

The Reserves were on their travels again, this time to Western Park in the centre of Leicester to face a new opposition in Hamilton Lions.

The players arrived to the park and were met by a prison style changing room, however the pitch was looking in good condition even after all the rain we have had lately.

Sutton were slow coming out the blocks and were having to defend their lines as Hamilton pushed forward looking for the opener. Hamilton even had the ball in the back of the net but the player was offside as he flicked the ball home on the goal line.

Hamilton were frustrating Sutton, culminating in Freer picking up a yellow card for a late challenge. Half time saw a change and Sutton started to progress and create chances. The Sutton striker went through on goal however his scuffed attempt was saved by the Hamilton keeper.

Hamilton looked to their bench and brought on the 7ft 'Thor Bjornsson'. However veteran Matt Pinchess used his experience to man mark the striker out the game.

The best chance fell to Hamilton towards the end of the game but Halford-Harding was there to pull off a brilliant save from the free kick to leave the game ending in a very rare 0-0 for grass roots football.

Sutton will be proud of their efforts against a team higher than them in the table and face another new team in 100 Percent FC next week away.
