MATCH REPORT: Reserves pick up first win at Glenfield

Sutton Bonington FC Reserves playing against Glenfield Town FC Reserves

The Reserves opened their account with a 5-3 away win at Glenfield Town Reserves.

The Reserves travelled to Glenfield looking to bounce back from last week's performance and with the 1st team game being called off manager Hood had some reinforcements in Martin, Crosland and 1st Team manager Tormey.

Hugo Grzelazka made his debut in goal for the club and looked steady and composed. The ball was flowing very nicely between all the players as Sutton started the game on the front foot, going 3-0 up in the 1st half thanks to a Tormey header, a Crosland freekick and captain Max Benson grabbing his 1st goal for the club.

A change at half time saw Olly Pinchess join the game and the young midfielder settled in nicely. Sutton grabbed a 4th goal thanks to Crosland as he weaved through the Glenfield defence. However, Sutton took their foot off the gas and conceded 2 goals in quick succession due to lack of communication at the back.

Sutton brought on more substitutes and Mike Liddington didn't take long after coming off the bench to score his 1st goal for the club in only his 2nd game. A mixup at the back let Liddington through and a simple side footed shot nestled into the corner to put Sutton 5-3 up and secure the first win of the campaign.

Next weekend, Sutton travel to face old foes Woodhouse Imperial.
