MATCH REPORT: Amazons draw first friendly

The brand new U16 Amazons put in a solid performance in their first ever 11-a-side game.

Fresh from winning the Broadway 6-a-side tournament two weeks ago, the brand new Amazons team drew 2-2 in their first friendly, with East Goscote Juniors.

After an early goal scored by East Goscote, Caoimhe hit back for the Amazons with a cracking goal to level before half time.

The second half started slowly but the Amazons again found themselves on the back foot as East Goscote took the lead again.

With only one sub, and with the girls were getting tired, changes were made to the formation which very quickly resulted in Lexi scoring the equaliser.

The effort and determination of the girls was evident, and they were delighted with the result. Whilst there are a few areas to work on this was a promising start for the new team.

Next up for the Amazons is a friendly at home against Rugby Town.
