MATCH REPORT: 5 star Tormey sinks Mountsorrel
Jack Tormey hit 5 goals as Sutton Reserves ran out 6-2 winners.
With the game in doubt all morning due to the persistent rain and weather, somehow the reserves fixtures went ahead against Mountsorrel.
Sutton came straight out the blocks and could have easily been a few goals ahead if only wingers Hood and Pulford had put their shooting boots on. It was left to striker Tormey to open the scoring when Korpal found him outside the box. The striker hit a curling shot into the top corner to give Sutton the lead.
Tormey didn't stop there and completed his hattrick in the 1st half, another shot from outside the box following a Crosland pass. A header from a Hood corner and his 4th goal came after a pass from Pulford. However a mistake at the back let Mountsorrel score 2 goals just before half time.
Sutton regained the momentum in the 2nd half and were the more dominant team from then on. Hood floated a ball forward to Crosland who from inside the box poked the ball past the keeper to make it 5-2.
Making his debut today was Leon Bodkin, who provided an assist to Tormey to score his 5th goal of the game.
A great game of football from the lads who deserved all 3 points on the day.
