Tormey takes charge

Sutton Bonington FC have appointed Jack Tormey as manager of the 1st Team with immediate effect following the resignation of previous Manager Jordan Allen just 1 week before the start of pre-season training. Tormey is second in Sutton’s all-time leading appearance makers for the first team, with 177 appearances since he joined the club in 2012. He’s also 2nd on the all-time goalscorers chart with 74 goals.

Tormey will take charge of his first game against Rugby Borough Reserves when pre-season friendlies get underway on the 13th July. With 6 friendlies crammed into 3 weeks, Tormey will have chance to try out various combinations of players as he searches for his ideal starting line ready for the new Senior League season which is due to begin on the 13th of August. Tormey knows the league well being Sutton’s leading appearance maker and goalscorer in the Senior League, with 22 goals from 36 games. He plans to take a step back from playing to focus on his new role, but will no doubt make the odd appearances from the bench.
